On a plateau, more than 30 miles north of Puno, is Sillustani, one of the world's largest necropolis. Surrounded by a landscape of stunning beauty that seems summed up in the calm waters of the Umayo lagoon, the archaeological complex known for its giant "chullpas" (species of stone towers), built by Collas and Incas, to bury their dead. Many of the burial towers are over 12 feet tall and have a greater diameter at the top than at the base.
Noble Tombs collas, eternal abode of the Children of the Sun, who after dominating this land, we would add architectural features similar to those of the Sun Temple or Cori court, in Cusco.
